Honoring Little Lives: Supporting Bereaved Parents Month

July is International Bereaved Parents Month, a time to honor babies gone too soon and to hold space for the parents and families who carry them forever in their hearts.

The loss of a baby, whether during pregnancy or after birth, is a grief that is often carried quietly. Many parents and families navigate this journey without the world fully seeing the weight they hold or the love they continue to feel for their child. This month serves as a gentle reminder that their grief is valid, their love is real, and their baby’s life, no matter how brief, mattered.

For those who have experienced this loss, July can bring complex emotions. It can be a time of remembrance, of lighting a candle in honor of a little life, of speaking their name aloud, or of simply allowing space for your heart to feel whatever it needs to feel. For families who have welcomed a rainbow baby, July may also be a reminder of the baby who came before, and the love that grows around both grief and hope.

If you are a bereaved parent or family member, please know you are not alone. Your baby is loved and remembered, and your grief is seen, even if it is often invisible to the world.

This month, we join in honoring all the little ones who left this world too soon and the parents who continue to carry them with love, courage, and quiet strength.

If you wish to share your baby’s name or your story this month, we invite you to do so in a way that feels comfortable for you. Whether it is lighting a candle, writing in your journal, or saying their name aloud, your remembrance matters.
